HOW TO USE POKER SOFTWARE!
Playing good Poker in a real Casino is full of headaches. Keeping track of your winnings is complicated by expenses like food, accommodation, calculating pot odds and using other mathematical techniques is tricky given the difficulty of sizing up how much is in each pot. Online Poker demolishes these obstacles to perfect play and as many players are discovering, there are software programs that can help you improve your online Poker play - ranging from those that keep track of your own playing statistics to those that suggest how to play each hand. Each of these programs has their advantages and disadvantages and how much you incorporate them into your game ultimately depends on how much time you want to spend analysing your play and how comfortable you are playing Poker on auto-pilot. Poker software programs are not replacements for understanding solid Poker strategy. However, there's lots of mathematics involved in Poker and these programs provide additional information to help you make decisions at the table.
DOING THE MATHS
One interesting software program is Poker Tracker which, helps analyse your play in depth to spot potential errors in your game. To use this program you import your hand histories from the various online poker sites that you play at and have the program crunch through the data. It displays how profitable each type of starting hand is for you. While it takes a while for this type of data to become accurate, you may be able to figure out which starting hands you play too much. Often, a program like Poker Tracker will reveal that you are overplaying marginal hands such as A6’s. Plus, not only does it keep track of your information, it also keeps track of your opponents' stats too!
PLAYING ON AUTO·PILOT

More controversially, there's a slew of software that will actually dispense advice as you play! The market leader is Calculatem Pro . The program monitors the game, watching which cards are dealt and how everyone is playing, and displays statistics, odds and advice on what you should do next. Calculatem works in a very advanced way. It calculates the odds of you winning a hand by randomly dealing the outcome many times and then averaging out the results. In addition, it uses a 'proprietary predictive algorithm' to determine your opponents hands, reckoning up the probability that you'll beat them in a showdown.
The program also shows you, at a glance, your 'outs' - the number of cards that will improve your hand. It also shows your 'total outs' - the cards that will improve your hand without improving anybody else's. Another thing that Calculatem takes into account is 'fold depth'. During a game, the program logs who has folded and at what point in the hand they did so. This allows the software to make better guesses as to what the folded players may have held based on what the community cards were at the time they threw in the towel. It's not foolproof, but it should allow you to make educated guesses as to what your remaining opponents are holding. The $40 program supports over 50 poker rooms, so it's very likely that this piece of software will work in conjunction with your favourite site. Try Calculator Pro
BREAK THE RULES
Should you always do what Calculatem Pro says? Well, although the program will give you accurate odds on your current situation, seasoned Poker players know that there's more to the game than numbers. Whilst the software can't figure out when somebody is bluffing, it may just help you to spot when somebody is representing a stronger hand than they actually hold. It's worth noting that even the makers of Calculatem recommend occasionally not following the program's advice. They say that if you always play tightly like the software advises you to, people will figure you out and simply fold whenever you raise. So, if the program tells you to fold but you can see your hand is very close to being playable on the slider, every so often you might want to throw caution to the wind and play the hand.
Many worry that using any of these types of software programs is a form of cheating. However, it isn't. There are two major forms of cheating at online poker - collusion and using bots - and these days Poker sites have very strong automated defences against both of them. Colluding means playing with one of your buddies at the table, letting each other know what cards each holds and then trying to fleece your opponents accordingly. Since these software programs are designed to just help you improve your own game, they would not be viewed as a collusive tool.
Furthermore, provided you play your own hands, these programs are not bots. A bot is a computer program that plays at an online Poker room without any user guidance. Theoretically, a bot could play 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If the bot was well-written, it could theoretically win a lot of money. But since you would still play your own hands and make your own decisions, these programs should not be viewed as bots.
There are many software tools available for online Poker players, and whilst using these tools is not essential they can certainly be helpful to your game - especially those who like to playa patient, calculated, unemotional game of poker and are willing to follow their head instead of their heart! If that sounds like your style of play, there's no reason why software like this couldn't soon pay for itself! Download Calculator Pro

The poker tool provides a full table view which shows players who have already folded and in which betting round they folded during. One of my favourite features is the Pot vs. Call window which shows you the pot odds of calling any given bet. A neat window counts down the deck of cards showing which cards still remain in play for the hand and a Sklansky’s rating of your hole cards is always visible prior to the flop as well as your poker hand’s rank as a percentage of all possible poker hands with your Odds of winning the hand shown as either a percentage or a win ratio.

There are frequent updates to the software, unlike many other online poker tools which no longer work along with support for many online poker rooms including all those listed on this site.
During my evaluation of this poker hand calculator I played 2 sessions each lasting for about an hour each session I bought in for $15 my first session I cashed out $38.75 playing pretty much as the tool advised and my second session netted $58.25 playing on a 10c/25c pot limit Hold’em game using the Texas Holdem poker tool Calculatem-Pro version to assist me making decisions.
